Dr. Deborah Markowitz

Dr. Deborah Markowitz - President of Pulmonary Associates of MetroWest

An experienced pulmonologist and critical care physician, Dr. Deborah Markowitz has led Pulmonary Associates of MetroWest, P.C., as president and owner since 2004. Affiliated with the MetroWest Medical Center in the greater Boston, MA, Dr. Markowitz served as the Medical Director of the Natick campus Leonard Morse Hospital ICU for 12 years. She is currently also affiliated with St. Vincent Hospital working as an attending physician in that intensive care unit. Her primary areas of interest include critical care settings and the continuity of post-acute care in community rehabilitation facilities. In a career spanning more than two decades, Dr. Markowitz was medical director of the Kindred Natick long term acute care unit for 10 years and has served as medical director for sub-acute units in skilled nursing facilities in Boston’s MetroWest area. Dr. Markowitz holds a bachelor’s degree in Physical Sciences from Harvard College and a medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. She subsequently completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at Mount Auburn Hospital, followed by three years of subspecialty training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA.
